Brown, 69, died yesterday at his home, 613 Louisiana Avenue. He had been in failing health four years. He was born January 6, 1888 in Bellefonte, Pa., and formerly resided at 3225 Pinehurst Avenue, Pittsburgh, before moving to Cumberland six months ago. Mr. Brown was a former engineer for the B&O Railroad on the Pittsburgh Division, having retired five years ago after 46 years of service. He was a member of United Brethren Church at Mr. Lebanon, Pa.; Hazelwood Lodge 130, Knights of Pythias; Lodge 370, Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers, and the B&O Veteran Employes Association. He is surived by his widow, Rhea Kate (Shinholt) Brown; a half-brother, Erwin Neff, Bellefonte, and a half-sister, Mrs. Ida Hecker, Pittsburgh. The body will remain at the Kight Funeral Home where services will be conducted tomorrow at 3 p.m. by Rev. John F. Sammel, paster of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Interment will be in Rose Hill mausoleum. The family requests that flowers be omitted.
