Brown Frostburg, July 3-The funeral of Joseph T. Brown, 38 years of age, an official of the Gleason Coal and Coke Company, son of Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Brown, this place, who died early Wednesday at Allegany Hospital, Cumberland, took place from St. Michael's Catholic Church, Friday morning. Rev. Joseph P. Nolan, pastor, celebrated requiem high mass and gave a touching eulogy. Father Nolan stated that when he came to St. Michael's church as an assistant priest 23 years ago, the first friend he made was Joseph Brown, then a young lad; and said Father Nolan it is a strange coincidence that when he returns as pastor, the first official act he was called upon to perform was to officiate at the funeral of the first friend he made when he first arrived here. Mr. Brown was very well known and his funeral was largely attended by friends and relatives from Frostburg and from other places. He was a member of the Holy Name Society and served as an usher at St. Michael's church and his untimely death is a matter of deep regret in the community. The pallbearers were John L. Casey, Frank Powers, Joseph McGraw, William Kreitzburg, John Ryan and Frank Wolfhope. Interment was in St. Michael's Cemetery."
