Cumberland Evening Times. July 18, 1941, Page A13. Frostburg, Md., July 18--Edward S. Burton, 56, an employee of the Southern Bar Hotel, Cumberland, died at his home, 203 East Main street, last night, following a heart attack. Mr. Burton became ill while at work, and died shortly after he had driven to Frostburg. He was a son of Mrs. Jennie Burton, Frostburg, and the late W. Scott Burton. Surviving, besides his mother, are his widow, the former Miss Sarah Stevens, one brother, Philip and a sister, Mrs. Robert Cooper, both of Wilmington, Del. Mr. Burton, a native of Frostburg, was a baker by trade, but in recent years has been employed by various hotels. He was prominently identified with Frostburg politics, and served as filtration engineer, after Frostburg's new water system was completed several years ago.
