"The Cumberland News" Cumberland, Maryland, Friday 5 Sep 1970: 
"MIDLAND-Michael J. Canty, 68, of Dayton, Ohio, died there Wednesday. Born in Midland, 
he was a son of the late William and Elizabeth (Cavanaugh) Canty. His wife, Catherine 
(Feldman) Canty, preceded him in death. He is survived by two sons, Michael Canty and 
Bernard Canty, and two daughters, Mrs, Virginia Wertz and Mrs. Frances Zugelder, Akron; 
and three sisters, Mrs. William Woods, Alexandria, Va., and Mrs. Isaac Stakem and Mrs. 
James Fair, Midland. Services and interment will be held Saturday in Dayton."
