"The Herald" Piedmont, West Virginia, Fri 1 Nov 1918: 
The remains of Miss Winifred Carey, professional nurse at St. Mary's Hospital, 
Clarksburg, were brought here Monday, Oct. 14, and taken directly to St. Peter's 
cemetery for burial. She was 28 years of age and a former resident of this 
community. She is survived by three brothers, J.J. Carey, of Dallas, Texas, James 
J. and Joseph A. Carey, of this place, two sisters, Mrs. M. F. O'Brien, of 
Cumberland, and Miss Margaret Carey, of Dallas, Texas."
