Mr. Collins was a prominent citizen and for a number of years had taken an active part in the politics of Garrett county as a Democrat. He voted on election day, and, not feeling well, left the polls early, went home, went to bed and gradually grew worse until he died. The funeral took place Sunday afternoon from St. Peter's Catholic church, Westernport, and was very largely attended. Quite a number of people came up from Cumberland and Lonaconing and other points. Rev. Thos. K. Lyons officiated. The deceased leaves a wife, who is very ill and was unable to attend the funeral, and two children."
