Conroy, postmaster of Barton, died this morning, following a protracted illness. A native of Mt. Savage, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Ellen (Cunningham) Fannon, and had lived here thirty- nine years. She was a member of St. Gabriel's Catholic Church. Besides her husband, she is survived by six children: Margaret, at home: Mrs. Ellen Dawson, Barton; Timothy, of Lonaconing: Edward, Cumberland; Mrs. Mary Alma Dudley, Frostburg, and Mrs. Anna , Mullaney, Cumberland; a sister, Mary Fannon. Mt. Savage; five brothers, Patrick, Michael and Lawrence Fannon, Mt. Savage; the Rev. John F. Fannon, pastor of the Church of the Nativity, and Joseph Fannon, both of Washington, D.C. She also leaves four grandchildren." Evening Times, Cumberland, Maryland, Mon 10 Nov 1941: "CONROY-Mrs. Annie (Fannon) aged 67, wife of Patrick E. Conroy, died Saturday, November 8, at her home in Barton. Funeral Mass Tuesday, November 11, at 9 a.m. at St. Gabriel's Catholic church, Barton. Interment in St. Michael's cemetery, Frostburg. Arrangements by Boal's Funeral Service." Evening Times, Cumberland, Maryland, Wed 12 Nov 1941: "Barton, Md., Nov. 12-Funeral services for Mrs. Annie Conroy were conducted at St. Gabriel's Catholic Church yesterday with a solemn requiem mass, celebrated by Rev. John F. Fannon, pastor of Nativity Church, Washington, brother of Mrs. Conroy. Rev. Ronald J. Fannon, of Sacred Heart Church, Washington, and Rev. Thomas J. Fannon, St. Charles Catholic Church, Pikesville. nephews, were deacon and sub- deacon, respectively; Rev. Stephen Chylinski, master of ceremonies; Rt. Rev. Msgr. A. Scarpatti delivered, the sermon; Revs. George Larkin, St. Anthony's, Washington; Joseph Lane, St. Patrick's, Mt. Savage; James C. Murphy, St. Mary's, Lonaconing; Francis J. McKeown, St. Patrick's, Cumberland, and A. J. Ayleward, C. S. S. R., who is conducting a mission in Lonaconing, were in the sanctuary. Pallbearers were Charles Tribbett, Patrick Gallagher, John Bradley, Angus McAttee, Gilbert Cooling, Patrick Laughlin, Joseph Mansfield, Harmon, Arnold and Hugh Beard. Flowerbearers were Charles Noonan. Ike Herbert, Ray Fannon, John Fannon, Edgar Fannon, Joseph Fannon, George Fannon and Edward Fannon. Among those attending were Mrs. Marie Fannon and sons, . George and Edward, Youngstown, Ohio; Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Fannon, son Joseph and daughter Mary Edith; Mrs. Helen Budney and Ann Logsdon, Washington; Mrs. T. L. Conroy, Baltimore.
