Fatkin, Post Office Official, Dies James W. Fatkin Sr. assistant superintendent of mails for the Cumberland Post Office, died this morning at his residence, RD 4, Oldtown Road. He was 53. After entering the postal service in 1931, Mr. Fatkin served as superintendent of Station A here. He was promoted to the post of superintendent of mails in 1956. Mr. Fatkin held membership in the National Association of Postal Supervisors. Born in Eckhart, he was a son of the late Thomas and Sarah (Wonn) Fatkin. Mr. Fatkin was a member of Trinity Methodist Church, the Methodist Men's Club, and the Married Couples Club of Centre Street Methodist Church. Well known as a soloist and choir director in the area, he was a member of the choir at Trinity Methodist Church. Mr. Fatkin was also a member of Fort Cumberland Lodge 211, AF & AM, the Oldtown Sportsman's Club, the Cumberland Outdoor Club and the District 16 Volunteer Fire Department. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Thelma H. (Holmes) Fatkin, and a son, James W. Fatkin Jr., at home. The body is at the Kight Funeral Home where friends will be received today from 7 to 9 p. m. and tomorrow from 2 to 4 p. m. and 7 to.9 p. m. Fort Cumberland Lodge 211 will hold a memorial service there tomorrow at 7:30 p. m.
