Flanagan, aged 57 years, who was killed Saturday when he fell from the Dodson railroad bridge and was drowned, were brought to his home in Westernport Sunday morning. Funeral services were conducted at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Westernport Tuesday morning, Rev. Edward McAdams officiating. Rev. J. J. Leary was in the sanctuary. Mr. Flanagan had been stationary engineer for the Wolf-Den Coal Corporation at Potomac manor, for 17 years. He is survived by his widow, two daughters, Misses Rose and Naoma and one son, Roy, all of Westernport. Mr. Flanagan was on his way to the train to visit his home in Westernport when his death occurred. As he was crossing the bridge his hat blew off and when he attempted to recover it, he lost his balance and fell off the bridge, striking his head on a rick in the river. Passing across the bridge was made difficult by the number of cars thereon." This file is located at http://files.usgwarchives.net/md/allegany/obits/f/flanagan-jt.txt
