The Herald, Piedmont, West Virginia, Fri 3 Aug 1928: 
"Mrs. Elizabeth Footen Dead--Mrs. Elizabeth Footen, 68 years 
old, died at the Western Maryland Hospital, Cumberland, Friday 
night at 11 o'clock. She was a charter member of the Daughters 
of America, and widely known in the community for her love and 
sympathy.  She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Margaret 
Kyles, one sister, Mrs. Janet Kirk, and one brother, George 
Greenhorn. The funeral services were held Monday at 3 p.m. at 
the Presbyterian church with Rev. Andrew Allen officiating. 
Interment was at the Laurel Hill Cemetery, Moscow."
