Evening Times, Cumberland, Maryland, Thu 12 Nov 1936: 
"Thomas B. Footen, 71, died, yesterday afternoon at his home, 84 Broadway 
after a lingering illness of heart trouble. Mr. Footen, a native of Barton, 
had resided in Frostburg since youth. He retired from coal mining some 
years ago. He was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church and the Holy 
Name Society. One son, William J. Footen, Hyattsvllle, and five daughters, 
Mrs. S. P. McGeough, Larchmont, N. Y., Mrs. John Rash, Fairfield, 
Connecticut, Irene, Kathleen and Genevieve, at home, survive. He was a 
brother Mrs. Ella Kelly, Cumberland, and Peter Footen, Baltimore. The 
funeral will be held Saturday at 9:30 a.m. from St. Michael's Church, with 
burial in the parish cemetery. The Holy Name Society will assemble at the 
home tomorrow at 8:30 p. m. to recite the rosary."
