"Cumberland Evening Times" Cumberland, Maryland, Mon 28 Jul 1958: 
"Westernport-Mrs. Anna L. Gillespie, 322 Maryland Avenue, died last 
night at Potomac Valley Hospital, Keyser, where she had been admitted 
July 14. Born at nearby Franklin, she was a daughter of the late 
David and Margaret (Casey) Stowell and the widow of Edward P. 
Gillespie. Mrs. Gillespie was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church 
and the Sodality of the parish. Surviving are a son, Edward Gillespie, 
at home; three daughters, Mrs. Howard Blackburn and Mrs. John 
Thompson, both of Westernport, and Miss Margaret Gillespie, at home, 
eight grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren. The body is at 
the Boal Funeral Home. A requiem mass will be celebrated Wednesday 
at 9:30 a.m. at St. Peter's Church and interment will be in the 
parish cemetery. The rosary will be recited tomorrow at 8 p.m. at 
the funeral home."
