"Evening Times" Cumberland, Maryland 17 Apr 1911: 
"Mrs. Margaret { nee Himes } Gray, aged 84, died at the home of 
her daughter, Mrs. Theodore Chaney, 31 Wine street, this a.m. at 
5 o'clock. The cause of death was old age. She is survived by 
five children, Messrs. Thomas, Samuel, Edward, Mrs. Chaney, and 
an unmarried daughter, Miss Lottie, all residents of this city. 
Mrs. Gray was a remarkable old lady and had a host of friends. 
She came here from her native county of Frederick, Md., years 
ago, and has made her home with her son-in-law, Theo Chaney, for 
the past 26 years. Last week she was admitted into the communion 
of SS Peter and Paul's church and her interment will be made in 
Rose Hill cemetery at the side of her daughter-in-law, Mrs. 
Samuel Gray. The hour and details of the funeral have not been 
determined."
