Alvin Hamilton, aged 40 years, husband of Detta Hamilton, died yesterday at noon from a heart attack while driving his automobile which ran into a fence at the home of Mrs. M.P. Gannon at Franklin, WV, near his own home. Mr Hamilton had been suffering from heart trouble for some time and yesterday morning was complaining of not feeling well. Joseph Blackburn, his father-in-law, was in the car and he said he groaned and fell under the wheel. Melvin Grindle, an insurance collector, who was passing, took him to the office of Dr. A.B. Kalbaugh, Westernport, who pronounced him dead. Besides his wife he is survived by two children, Ethel and Lloyd, both at home; his mother, Mrs Amanda Hamilton, Franklin; two brothers, David and William Hamilton, both of Franklin; four sisters, Mrs. Bessie Griffith, Mrs. Florence Smith, Franklin; Mrs. Anna Ross, Barton, Md. and Mrs. Dela Moyers, Piedmont. This fellow would have been a distant cousin. His father, Wm. Alexander Hamilton III, may have been notorious in the Westernport/Barton area. He once rode his horse into a local saloon where he attempted to demonstrate what a quick draw he was. In the effort, his gun stuck in the holster and Wm. shot himself in the leg or foot.
