Dr. Haywood was the assistant manager of the technological research and development department of the West Virginia Pulp and Paper Company plant at Luke. He received his doctor of science degree in 1950 at Centre College, Danville, Ky. A native of Shaw, W. Va., he was a son of the late Thomas and Amanda (Troy) Haywood. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Margaret (McGreevy) Haywood; five sons, Stuart Haywood, Silver Spring, Thomas Haywood, Smithtown, Long Island, N.Y.; Jerry Haywood, Chicago, and Richard and David Haywood, both at home; five brothers, Erlin Haywood, Keyser; Norman Haywood, McCoole; Holmes Haywood, Piedmont; and Paul and Thomas Haywood, both of Luke; a sister, Mrs. Margaret Wolfe, Luke, and four grandchildren. The body is at the Fredlock Funeral Home in Piedmont, where the rosary will be recited tomorrow at 8 p.m. A requiem mass will be celebrated Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Peter's Catholic Church by Rev.
