HENRY C. HOWELL
BARTON – Henry C. Howell, 79, died yesterday in Potomac Valley Hospital where 
he was a patient nine days.  
A native of Barton, he was a son of the late Jefferson and Harriett (Moore) 
Howell.  His wife, Lulu (Logsdon) Howell, preceded him in death.
Mr. Howell retired 12 years ago as a pipefitter and was a member of Jr. OUAM 
94, Barton and Cumberland Steamfitter Local.  He also was a member of the 
Barton Hose Company for many years and of Barton Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are three brothers, Joseph and William Howell, Barton, and Orville 
Howell, Cumberland; two sisters, Mrs. Ellen Porter, here, and Mrs. Jane Clark, 
Cumberland.
The body will be at Boal Memorial Chapel, Barton, this evening.
He was a charter member of the Barton Hose Company, which was organized in 1919.
Services will be conducted on Thursday at 2 p.m. in the Barton Presbyterian 
Church by Rev. George Roberts, pastor.  Interment will be in Laurel Hill 
Cemetery.
