Cumberland Evening Times, Cumberland, Maryland, 27 Apr 1973: 
"BARTON - Mrs. Martha L. Howell, 82, of here, died yesterday day at her residence. 
A native of here, she was a daughter of the late William and Martha (McGimpsey) 
Logsdon. Her husband, Charles Howell, preceded her in death. Mrs. Howell was a 
member of St. Gabriel's Catholic Church here. Surviving are two sons, J. Joseph
Howell, here; Charles W. Howell, Lonaconing; one daughter, Mrs. Mary H. Stakem, 
Silver Spring; one brother Charles S. Logsdon, Alexandria Va.; three grandchildren 
and one great-grandchild. The body is at the Boal Memorial Chapel here where 
friends will be received tomorrow and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m."

Cumberland News, Cumberland, Maryland, 27 Apr 1973: 
"Barton-Mrs. Martha Howell, 82, widow of Charles Ho well, died last night at her 
residence here. The body is at the Boal Memorial Chapel here, where friends will 
be received tomorrow and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m."
