Evening Times, Cumberland, Maryland, 5 Nov 1948: 
"Mt. Savage--Joseph Hoye, 68, died here this morning at the home of Mr. and 
Mrs. James Weimer, with whom he had been residing since May, after being 
stricken with paralysis last  Saturday.  Mr. Hoye was born in Frostburg, a 
son of the late Patrick and Elizabeth (Conroy) Hoye, and until his retirement 
last May had worked at Notre Dame College, Baltimore, a number of years.  Mr. 
Hoye was a bachelor and the last member of his immediate family. He is 
survived by three nephews, Bernard Winner, Lonaconing, Joseph Winner, 
Frostburg, and Aloysius Winner, Mt. Savage, and three nieces, Mrs. James 
Weimer, Mrs. Stanley Weimer and Mrs. Clayton Robison, all of Mt. Savage.  
Funeral arrangements have not been completed."
