SAVAGE - John A. Hughes, 82, of Church Hill, died yesterday at Memorial Hospital where he had been a patient since February 26. He had been in ill health several years. Born at Elk Garden, W. Va., he was a son of the late Francis and Mary (Kilduff) Hughes. Mr. Hughes was a retired employe of Celanese Fibers Company. He was a veteran of World War I and was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church. He also was a member of the Holy Name Society, Knights of Columbus, Old Rail Post, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and Farrady Post 24, American Legion, Frostburg. Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Margaret Bevans, and a niece, Miss Marian Bevans, with whom he resided. The body is at the Durst Funeral Home, Frostburg, where friends will he received today from 7 to 9 p. m. and tomorrow from 2 to 4 p. m. and 7 to 9 p. m. Requiem Mass will be celebrated Wednesday at 10 a. m. at St. Patrick's Church, with interment in the parish cemetery. Graveside military rites will be accorded by the Old Rail Post, VFW, and Farrady Post of the American Legion. Pallbearers will be Thomas Kilduff, Carl Mulligan, Bert Caldora, Edward Farrell, John Deffinbaugtfand Edward Monohan. The Rosary will be said tomorrow at 8:15 at the funeral home."
