Cumberland Times, Cumberland, Maryland 9 Apr 1950: 
"Westernport--April 8-Rites will be held tomorrow at 2 p. m. 
from the Boal Funeral Home for Luke Kearney, 73, Shallmar, a 
veteran of the Spanish-American War, who died yesterday in 
Newton D. Baker VA Center,  Martinsburg, W. Va.  Rev. O. 
Clarence Mitchell, pastor of Trinity Methodist Church. 
Piedmont, will officiate and interment will take place in 
Philos Cemetery here.  Mr. Kearney was born at Phoenix Hill, 
near Westernport, a son of the late Luke and Kazath (Howards) 
Kearney.  Surviving are his widow, the former Miss Olive Boyce; 
four daughters, Mrs. Corrine Cornell, "Luke; Mrs. Marie 
Fazenbaker, Westernport; Mrs. Bernice Fazenbaker, Shallmar, and 
Mrs. Virginia Warnick, Percyville, Va.; three sons, Henry 
Kearney, Shallmar; Luke Kearney, Jr., USA, Arlington, Va., and 
Charles Kearney, Piedmont, and a sister, Mrs. Bridget Williams, 
Luke."
