From unknown Idaho newspaper, March 2 and 3, 1934: 
"In the Old Days-Stricken by heart failure, John M. Keegan, 55, 
a former deputy sheriff here, dropped dead at his home in Burke 
yesterday.  He was born in West Virginia in 1878 and came to 
the district years ago.  He had been a compressor man for the 
Hercules Mining Co. for 20 years and was a deputy during R. E. 
Weniger's term as sheriff."
