Kenney, 79, who died Saturday morning at the home of his son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. James Estel Kenney, Church street, Westernport, were held Monday morning at 9 o'clock at St. Peter's Catholic church. Solemn high mass was celebrated by Rev. A. Scarpati, pastor, with Rev. Victor Dowgiallo, as deacon, and Rev. Joseph Lansinger as subdeacon. Rev. Father Scarpati delivered the sermon. Interment was in the church cemetery. Active pallbearers were Joseph L. Mansfield, P. A. Laughlin, John B. Determan, George Cleaver, Edward Moran and Sheridan Evans; honorary, John Dowling, Henry Bell, Leo Dixon, Joseph Conroy, Gus Fazenbaker, E. W. Noon, William Harden, James Wilkinson, John Healy, Lew Adams, Vause Adams, John Rankin, Alfonso Garritano. Among those attending were Mr. and Mrs. F. J. Ravenscroft and family, Fairmont; Mr. and Mrs. E. I. White and family, Canton, Ohio; Mr. and Mrs. H. S. Ingram, Mr. and Mrs. Sol Simmons, Akron, Ohio; Mrs. Marshall Daugherty, Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Kenney, East Millsboro, Pa.; Mr. and Mrs. Fred B. Schwinabart and children, Elk Garden; Mrs. C. F. White, Richmond, Va.; Mrs. Nellie Maffett, William Browning and Miss Zaida Browing, Oakland; Mrs. Elizabeth McNally, Elk Garden; Mr. and Mrs. Edward Mullen, Emmett Fahey, Mrs. Samuel Nightengale, Mrs. Nellie Furley, Miss Beatrice Manion, Cumberland, John Kenney, Jr., Shallmar; John Manion and Mrs. Anna Kight, Frostburg, Mr. and Mrs. B. J. Fowler, Keyser; Mrs. Ernest Simon, Nethkin, W. Va., and Edward Stakem, Lonaconing. A native of Ireland, Mr. Kenney came to this community with his parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. Richard Kenney. For forty-six years he was mine foreman for the Davis Coal and Coke Company at Elk Garden. Since 1933, he has made his home with his son. He has been seriously ill at times during the past year. Besides James Estel Kenney, he leaves five other sons, Richard A. Kenney, Freemont, N. H.; John Kenney, Shallmar, Frank, Bernard and Thomas Kenney, Westernport; three daughters, Mrs. F. J. Ravenscroft, Fairmont, W. Va., Mrs. E. E. White, Canton, O.; and Mrs. Fred B. Schwinabart, near Elk Garden, one sister, Mrs. Bernard B. Ingram, Akron, Ohio, and thirty-five grandchildren."
