Evening Times, Cumberland, Maryland, Thu 26 Dec 1963: 
"Elk Garden, W. Va., John Kenny Jr., 76, died Tuesday at 
his home here. Born in Elk Garden, he was a son of the 
late J. J. and Mary (Brophy) Kenny. His wife, Mrs. Sadie 
Kenny, preceded him in death. Mr. Kenny was a retired 
coal miner. Surviving are four brothers Bernard Kenny, 
Westernport; Thomas Kenny, Mt. Savage; Richard Kenny, 
Conway, N. H. and Frank Kenny, Canton, Ohio and a sister, 
Mrs. Mae Hawk, of Florida. The body is at the residence 
where the rosary will be recited today at 8 p. m. A 
requiem mass will be celebrated tomorrow at 10:30 a. m. 
at the Catholic Church of the Immaculate Conception and 
interment will be in Elk Garden Cemetery."
