"Funeral services were conducted Thursday at the Boal Memorial Chapel in Barton, Md., 
for John "Abe" A. Keyes, 81, of 23 1/2 Furnace Street, Lonaconing, Md., who died 
Tuesday in Memorial Hospital, Cumberland, Md. The Rev. Marvin Coleman officiated and 
burial was in Laurel Hill Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were James Brown, Ronnie 
Smith, Harry Stafford, Billy Fazenbaker, Bryan Fazenbaker and Eugene Fazenbaker. Born 
in Barton, he was a son of the late Richard Keyes and Mary (Muir) Keyes. He was a 
retired self-employed plasterer and was a member of Local 296, cement finishers. He 
is survived by his widow, Annie (McIntyre) Keyes; a daughter, Mrs. Gladys Moses, 
Daytona Beach, Fl.; a brother, Nelson Keyes, Westernport, Md.; three grandchildren 
and four great-grandchildren."
