The News, Cumberland, Maryland Tue 1 Aug 1967: 
"FROSTBURG - J. Leo Kirby, 10163 Sutherland Road, Silver Spring, 
a former resident of Frostburg, died Friday in Holy Cross Hospital, 
Washington, D.C.  Born in Vale Summit, he was the son of the late 
John and Anna (McGann) Kirby. He was a retired employe of the U. 
S. Navy. He was a member of St. Bernadette's Catholic Church in 
Silver Spring.  Surviving are his widow, Irene (Frick) Kirby; three 
daughters, Mrs. Mary Murphy, Mrs. Irene Logan and Mrs. Frances 
Fehiner, all of Washington; one son, John C. Kirby, Washington; two 
sisters, Miss Anne A. Kirby and Mrs. Dorothy Cherry, both of 
Washington, and 10 grandchildren.  The body is at the Warren E. 
Pumphrey Funeral Home, 8434 Georgia Avenue, Silver Spring.  A 
requiem mass will be celebrated at 10 a. m. today at St. 
Bernadette's Church, Silver Spring, with interment in Mt. Olivet 
Cemetery there."
