Evening Times, Cumberland, Maryland, 21 Aug 1944: 
"Frostburg--The body of Mrs. Veronica (Lyons) Kirby, 50, who died 
yesterday at Providence Hospital, Washington, arrived at Hafer's 
Funeral Home this afternoon and will remain there until funeral 
services are held Wednesday at 9:30 a. m, at St. Michael's Catholic 
church with interment in the church cemetery.  A daughter of the 
late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Lyons, Frostburg, Mrs. Kirby is survived 
by her husband, Aloysius Kirby and one son, John Joseph Kirby, 
Washington.  Three sisters, Mrs. E. P. Joyce and Miss Margaret 
Lyons, LaVale and {Mrs} E. F. Shover, Alliance, O, also survive."
