Paul Kooken, 74, of 303 Walnut Street, died yesterday at Potomac Valley Hospital, Keyser, where he had been a patient since Saturday. Born in Keyser, he was a son of the late Thomas Z. and Grace (Rine) Kooken. Mr. Kooken was a veteran of World War I and was a retired employe of the Luke mill of Westvaco. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Philos Lodge 91, IOOF, and Victory Post 155, American Legion. Surviving are his widow, Margaret (LaRue) Kooken; a son, J. William Kooken, of here; a daughter, Mrs. Pauline Arnold, Willingboro, N.J.; two sisters, Miss Nellie Kooken, of here, and Mrs. Virginia Suter, Piedmont; a brother, V. Browne Kooken, of here, and three grandchildren. The body is at the Boai Funeral Home where friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be conducted there tomorrow at 2:30 p.m. by Rev. Sumner Sawyer. Burial will be in Philos Cemetery. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Sanctuary Fund of Trinity United Methodist Church."
