LaPORTA FROSTBURG – Samuel A. LaPorta, 59, of 87 East Main Street, died suddenly yesterday at his barber shop. A native of Frostburg, he was a son of Mrs. Sadie (Bollino) LaPorta and the late Anthony LaPorta. He and a brother, Ross LaPorta, owned and operated a barber shop here. A veteran of World War II, he was a member of Farrady Post 24, American Legion, Barbers Union, Local 314, Lions Club, Maplehurst Country Club, St. Michael's Catholic Church and Holy Name Society. Besides his mother and brother, he is survived by his widow, Catherine (Thompson) LaPorta; three sisters, Miss Mary LaPorta, Mrs. Della Sapienza and Mrs. Helen Caldwell, all of here; two brothers, Joseph (Josie) LaPorta, here, and Leo LaPorta, Eckhart.
