"The Herald" Piedmont, West Virginia, Wednesday 17 Mar 1971: 
"Funeral services were conducted Sunday at the Boal Funeral home in Westernport 
for Mrs. Mabel G. LaRue, 68, of 193 Church street, Westernport, who died last 
Thursday at Potomac Valley Hospital in Keyser. The Rev. Lucius Gray, pastor of 
the Piedmont Presbyterian church, officiated. Interment was in Philos cemetery. 
Serving as pallbearers were Gary Dawson, Wayne Dawson, Michael Cowatch, Troxell 
Keplinger, Paul Keplinger and Donald Keplinger. Born in Westernport, she was a 
daughter of the late Samuel and Amanda (Patrick) Sheetz. Her husband, Louis LaRue, 
preceded her in death. Mrs. LaRue was a member of the Piedmont Presbyterian church, 
as 25-year member of Miriam Rebekal Lodge, member of the Senior Citizens Club and 
was active for many years in the Girl Scouts. Surviving are three sons, Eugene 
LaRue, Keyser; Clifford LaRue, Plymouth, N.C.; and Norman LaRue, Twenty-First Lane, 
Md.; a daughter, Mrs. Donna Flick, Westernport; 14 grandchildren and two nieces."
