While visiting her sister, Mrs. E. M. Heber, 18 North Lee Street, Miss Daisy LeDane, a young blind woman of Ridgely, W. Va., fell down the steps and was rendered unconscious. The accident occurred on the first of February, nearly two weeks ago, but the girl has not regained consciousness. Though in a state of unconsciousness, the young woman is very susceptible to mental suggestion. She seems to understand what is being said, but is unable to make any response. When examining for the extent of her injuries, Dr. Simonton noticed a slight bruise on the arm. He remarked to a person standing nearby, "There is a slight bruise here." Immediately the arm became stiff as though suddenly paralyzed. Other noticeable examples of mental suggestions have occurred. MADE BLIND BY FALL The peculiar part of the case comes from the fact that when about ten years old Miss LeDane lost her sight from injuries received in a fall. Although blind since ten years of age, her eyes have the same look as those of a person will full sight, and the strange part of the present case is that since her fall the eyes apparently have some sight restored to them. When her eyelids were raised by the physician, it was noticed that the pupils would dilate and contract when light was placed near or taken from her face, the change being most marked. This leads some of the eye specialists to think that the last fall may have restored her sight in part at least. Miss LeDane is now about 28 years old. MISS LEDANE SUCCUMBS Miss Daisy LeDane died at 12:30 o'clock this afternoon at the home of her sister, Mrs. E. M. Heber, 18 North Lee Street. Her condition became worse this morning and after sinking into total unconsciousness, her pulse became weaker, and death came quietly and painlessly. The funeral of Miss LeDane will take place Wednesday afternoon at 3 o'clock with interment in Rose Hill Cemetery."
