Evening Times, Cumberland, Maryland, 26 June 1973: 
"LONACONING - William Edgar Likens, 92, of Moscow, died today in Potomac Valley 
Hospital, Keyser.  Born at Patterson Creek, W. Va., he was a son of the late 
Joseph and Rebecca (Rinkler) {sic-Rinker} Likens.  His wife, Nettie Mae (Elkins) 
Likens, also preceded him in death.  Surviving are seven daughters, Mrs. Harry 
Beeman, Lonaconing; Mrs. Francis Llewelyn, Moscow, Mrs. William Fazenbaker, 
Lonaconing; Mrs. Dewey Llewelyn and Mrs. Robert Spiker, both of Gilmore; Mrs. 
Charles Benson, Luke, and Mrs. Clyde McUlty, Arlington, Va.; two sons, Joseph 
Likens, Lonaconing, and Robert Likens of Kentucky; a brother, Elmer Likens, 
Gormania, 24 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.  Friends will be received 
in the Eichhorn Funeral Home here today from 7 to 9 p.m. and tomorrow from 2 to 
4 and 7 to 9 p.m.  Services wilt be conducted in the funeral home Thursday at 
1:30 p.m. by Rev. Wayne Funkhauser.  Interment will be in Mt. View Cemetery, 
Moscow."
