A native of Barton, he was a son of the late William and Mary (Buskirk) Logsdon. He was a coal miner for 60 years and was a member of the Frostburg Aerie of F. O. Eagles. His widow, Mrs. Mary Ann (McGimpsey) Logsdon, to whom he was married for 54 years on New Year's Eve, survives, along with six sons, James and William, at home; Lloyd, Lonaconing; John D., Panama; Alvin, Barton, and Charles, Washington, D. C.; two daughters, Mrs. Charles Howell and Mrs. Henry Howell, both of Barton and one brother, Daniel, of Morgantown. The family has requested that flowers be omitted."
