Evening Times, Cumberland, Maryland, Wed 1 Jun 1927: 
"John Manley, Sr., aged 76 years died at his home, Paradise, 
Monday evening after a lingering illness. He was born in 
County Mayo, Ireland in 1851, coming to this country in 1900. 
He first settled in New York, and later came to Midland. He 
is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary Manley and the following 
sons and daughters: Patrick, John, Michael, Margaret and 
Agnes Manley and Mrs. Raymond Elliott all of Midland and one 
sister Mrs. Bridget  McLauglin, New Rochelle, New York. 
Funeral services will be held Thursday morning at 9:30 
o'clock from St. Joseph's Catholic church with burial in 
Belvedere Cemetery."
