"Lonaconing, Md., May 10, 1939-Robert Marshall, Sr., the 
oldest resident of Lonaconing, died yesterday after a bried 
illness. He was 93. Mr. Marshall was born in Lanarkshire, 
Scotland. He came to Lonaconing in 1870 where he married 
Margaret McKinley on September 19, 1871. He was a member of 
the Presbyterian Church. Surviving are four sons, William, 
former postmaster, Robert, Jr., and James, all of 
Lonaconing, and John, Washington, D. C., and two daughters, 
Mrs. Robert M. Hutcheson, Cumberland, and Jane Marshall, 
home, 16 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren."
