All Rights Reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/md/mdfiles.htm ********************************************************* Stricken While Alone in Office Constable Henry Martz, aged 71 years, was found seated in a chair in an unconscious condition Saturday morning when Justice Jacob B Humbird entered his office and physicians stated that he had been stricken with apoplexy. His arm had fallen against a gas stove and was badly burned. His condition is serious. To add to the serious condition of Mr Martz is the fact that his wife has been ill for several days, and is still ill. She went to visit a daughter who resides in West Virginia, and while there was taken ill, and had to return home. After her arrival home her condition became quite critical, but she is now in an improved condition. Condition Improved The condition of Constable Henry Martz, 62 Independence Street who was stricken with paralysis last Saturday was somewhat improved today. He is not able to walk about, and is still confined to his bed, but a marked improvement is shown. Constable Martz Critically Ill Constable Henry Martz who was suddenly stricken with apoplexy some days ago, and whose condition has improved, is reported as being critically ill. Funeral Postponed The funeral of the late Constable Henry Martz, which was announced for 9 O'Clock tomorrow morning, will not take place until the arrival of his daughter, Mrs Bertha Pollard, of San Francisco, Cal. A message was received last night announcing that Mrs Pollard would come here to attend the funeral. It is likely that it will require several days for the daughter to arrive here, but the remains of the father will be held until she arrives. Funeral of Mr Henry Martz The funeral of Mr Henry Martz will take place Monday morning. Services will be held at St Patrick's Church at 9 O'Clock. Interment will be made at SS Peter and Paul Cemetery. Mr Martz died last Monday. The funeral was delayed until his daughter, Mrs Bertha Pollard, could reach here from San Francisco, Cal. Mrs Pollard arrived today. January 1912
