Cumberland Times Excerpts 06 Dec 1987 

Lawrence I Matt, 84, of 804 Maplewood Lane, died Saturday (05 Dec) in 
the Sacred heart Hospital of heart disease following a brief illness. 
Born in Cumberland on 03 Mar 1903, he was a son of the late George Matt 
and Barbara Miller. He was a retired engineer of the Celanese Fiber 
Plant and of Yoder’s Plumbing and Heating Co. Surviving are his widow 
Beatrice McGreevy and one daughter, Mrs. Judy Barnes of Springfield VA 
and one sister, Mrs. Regina Winterling of Cumberland, 2 grand-children 
and several nieces and nephews. Services at St Patrick’s Catholic Church 
and burial in SS Peter & Paul Cemetery.
