Evening Times, Cumberland, Maryland Thur, 1 Mar 1928: 
"Lonaconing-Mrs. Edith P. McFarlane, age 37, wife of David McFarlane, 
died at 3 o'clock this morning at her home in Detmold, following an 
illness of several months.  Besides her husband, she is survived by 
three children, Richard, Lillian and Catherine.  She is also survived 
by two brothers, Richard Pendleberry, Lonaconing and Eli Pendleberry, 
Charleston, W. Va.; and three sisters, Mrs. Joss Beeman, Miss Celia 
Oendleberry and Mrs. John Dodds, Lonaconing. The funeral will be held 
Sunday afternoon, with hservices by Rev. B. F. Auld, pastor of the 
First M. E. Church. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery."
