"Piedmont Herald" Piedmont, West Virginia, Thursday 22 Apr 1948: 
"Requiem mass for James V. McGreevy, 50, who died Sunday morning in Memorial Hospital, 
Cumberland, where he had been a patient since March 10, was held Tuesday morning at St. 
Peter's Catholic church, Westernport. The Rev. Charles Quinn, assistant pastor, 
officiated. The Rev. Msgr. A. Scarpatti, Pastor, and the Rev. George Pugh, assistant 
pastor, were in the sanctuary. Interment was in Philos cemetery. Pallbearers were John 
Kelly, Charles Pendergast, Richard Carey, John Dugan, William Rhodes and James Fox. Mr. 
McGreevy, who resided at 133 Main street, Westernport, was a son of the late Michael and 
Ann Footen McGreevy. Six brothers survive: Michael, Baltimore, Francis, Luke, Joseph, 
Piedmont, John, Thomas and Emmett, Westernport."
