Dr. H. V. Deming, deputy county medical examiner, said her death in Memorial Hospital at 4:30 p.m. resulted from abdominal injuries. She was enroute home from a nearby candy store when the accident occurred, he added. When informed of her daughter's death Mrs. McGreevy, who suffers from a heart ailment, collapsed. Her condition is not believed to be serious. Police Lt. Raymond R. Johnston said the driver, Ernest B. Crites, Robert's Street, posted $10 bond for trial in Police Court on a careless driving charge. The investigation is being continued. Crites, Lt. Johnston said, told him he was headed north on Virginia Avenue when the child left the store on the west side of the street and ran from behind a bus into the path of his car. The child was admitted to the hospital at 1:55 p.m. Dr. A. J. Mirkin performed an emergency laparotomy but the girl died later. Her other injuries included abrasions on the left side of the forehead, face, chest, right arm, and knees and cuts on the left side of the scalp. Besides her parents, she is survived by a sister, Mary Anita McGreevy, at home, and four brothers, Robert E. McGreevy, with the local Marine Reserve unit at Camp Lejeune, N.C., and Milan, James and Richard McGreevy, at home. The body is at the Hafer Funeral Home."
