Lonaconing, Md., Jan 27-Mrs. Jno. McIndoe, wife of one of the most prominent merchants in Lonaconing, shot and killed herself this morning about 11:45 o’clock at her residence over the store conducted by her husband on Bridge street, just opposite the C & P railroad depot, her death being probably due to melancholia. Mrs. McIndoe has been suffering for some time past with a nervous disorder, having been to a hospital recently for treatment, but to no avail, and being still under treatment of Dr. Hodgeson. Her sad death this morning is the result of her unfortunate malady. The deceased lady is one of the best known women in Lonaconing. She was a Miss Peebles prior to her marriage. In addition to the husband, four sons survive as follows: John, William, James and Gibson.” This file is located at http://files.usgwarchives.net/md/allegany/obits/m/mcindoe-mp.txt
