“The Herald” Piedmont, West Virginia, Wed 11 Mar 1970: 
“Funeral services for Lewis P. Michael, 88, formerly of 102 South Mineral street, 
who died Friday at Hopemont State hospital, Terra Alta, were conducted Monday at 
the Markwood Funeral home, Keyser. Interment was in Meadow Point Cemetery, Keyser. 
Officiating at the services was the Rev. Harry P. Light, pastor of the Grace 
Methodist church. A native of Westernport, he was a son of the late George L. and 
Rebecca (Jenkins) Michael. His wife, Ida Belle (Kight) preceded him in death last 
year.  Mr. Michael was a retired agent for the Equitable Life Insurance Co., and 
was a member of Grace United Methodist church, Keyser.  Surviving are a son, 
George I. Michael, Minneapolis, Minn., and two grandsons, Lt. Cdr. George I. 
Michael, Jr., with the Navy in Washington and Lt. David R. Michael, K 1 Swayer 
AFB, Mich.”
