Dr. J. Harvey Mickley..Johnstown, Pa. Funeral rites will be held at Waynesboro, Pa., in Trinity Reformed Church, tomorrow at 1:30 p.m. for Rev. Dr. J. Harvey Mickley, 75, pastor of St. John's Reformed Church in Johnstown, for 43 years. Services at his church in Johnstown tonight at 7:45 will be conducted by the Rev. Dr. Eugene P. Skyles, pastor of St. Mark's Reformed Church, Cumberland, Md., a lifelong friend. Their fathers had been classmates at Franklin and Marshall College. Dr. Skyles will be assisted at the service by Rev. Dr. W. K. Anderson, pastor of Franklin Street Methodist Episcopal Church, and Rev. James Carr, pastor of St. Paul's Reformed Church. Dr. Mickley was born in Washington county, Maryland, near Harbaugh's church and not far from the Pennsylvania line. His activities in the Reformed church covered a wide range. He and Dr. Skyles served on the board of St. Paul's Orphan's Home, Greenville, Pa., and Dr. Mickley was instrumental in establishing the home for old folks in connection with the institution. He dedicated the first unit in memory of his sister, Nora Mickley, who taught school in Johnstown for many years. He leaves one sister, Miss Emma E. Mickley, with whom he resided. With Dr. Skyles, Dr. Mickley was a delegate to the World Convention of Alliance of the Reformed Church, holding Presbyterian form of government, at Montreal, last summer. They later toured Canada together. Dr. Mickley's wife, who was Hattie M. Miley, died in 1894 and he never remarried. Dr. Mickley was a director of Hood College. He was a member of the Home Mission Board of the Reformed Church and he served on committees of the General Synod. Daniel Mickley, Waynesboro, Pa., is his brother.
