VERNON R. MILLER

   Vernon Rl Miller, 73, of 205 National Highway, died this morning in 
Memorial Hospital following an illness of 16 years.
   Born in Cumberland, he was a son of the late William D. and Florence M. 
(Runkles) Miller.  Formerly proprietor of a grocery store at Maryland and 
Central avenues, he retired from business in 1942.  Mr. Miller was a member of 
Park Place Methodist Church.
   Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Ethel B. (Kifer) Miller;  two sons, Merlyn F. 
Miller, this city, and D. Dale Miller, Baltimore; a daughter, Mrs. Ross E. 
Golden, New Smyrna Beach, Fla.; a brother, Russell Miller, Newark, N. J., a 
sister, Miss Grace Miller, city, 10 grandchildren and for great-grandchildren.
   The body is at the Kight Funeral Home where friends will be received from 2 
to 4 and from 7 to 9 p.m.
