"Evening Times" Cumberland, Maryland, 10 Jun 1942: "
Mount Savage, Md., June 10-Patrick Monahan, aged 79, died early this morning 
at the home of his daughter, Mrs. George Malloy, following an illness of one 
week. Mr. Monahan formerly resided in Frostburg where he was a member of St. 
Michael's Catholic Church. Since the death of his wife in December of 1939, 
he has made his home with Mr. and Mrs. George Malloy. Mr. Monahan is 
survived by another daughter, Mrs. Margaret Stapleton, Frostburg, and four 
sons, Edward Monahan, San Diego, Cal.; Leonard and Joseph Monahan, Detroit 
and Paul Monahan of Frostburg. Seven grandchildren also survive."
