Cumberland Evening Times, Cumberland, Maryland, Wed 7 Apr 1948: 
"Mrs. Annie L. Moran, 70, wife of Michael P. Moran, 627 Oldtown 
Road, died of a heart attack shortly after retiring at 11 o'clock 
last night. She had been in failing health some time.  Mrs. Morgan 
{sic} was born in this city, a daughter of the late Martin and 
Margaret Wempe. She and her husband, a Celanese engineer, would 
have celebrated their golden wedding anniversary June 22. She was 
a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and the Sodality of the 
Blessed Virgin Mary. Besides her husband, she leaves seven 
children, Raphael Moran and Mrs. Loretta Graney, New York; Michael 
F. Moran, Huntington, W. Va.; Leo and James Moran, at home; 
William J. Moran, Oldtown Road, and Mrs. Albert E. King, Homestead 
Avenue; two brothers, E. M. and B. H. Wempe, both of Hagerstown; 
a sister, Mrs. R. P. Moxley, Baltimore; 18 grandchildren and two 
great grandchildren."
