"Piedmont Herald" Piedmont, West Virginia, Thu 11 Jan 1940 "
Funeral services for Mrs. Harriet LaRue Murphy, 84, who died Monday morning at 
Cumberland, were held yesterday afternoon at the Boal funeral home, Westernport. 
Interment was in Philos Cemetery. Rev. Fred R. Barnes, pastor of the First 
Methodist church, officiated. The pallbearers were Lester, Calvin and Roy 
Lambert, Ellis Trazise, Lee Miller and E. S. Boal. A native of Garrett county, 
Mrs. Murphy was born near Frostburg and resided in the George's Creek region all 
her life. Before going to Cumberland about four years ago, she resided in 
Westernport. Surviving are the following children: Mrs. Thomas Trazise, Mrs. 
Robert Gentry, both of Westernport; Mrs. Charles Duckworth, Lonaconing; and Mrs. 
Ellie Metz, Detroit; and one son, John Murphy, Blaine."
