Miss Naughton came to Norwalk Oct. 29 with the body of Bateman, one time merchant, for burial. At his interment she appeared grief-stricken. She died Friday night in Memorial Hospital at Norwalk while under a physician's care. Whether the poison was taken accidentally was not known. Coroner C.L. Bell said an investigation was not required because she had medical attention before her death. A brother and sister from Westernport came to attend Miss Naughton's funeral and burial was made in Huron, Ohio Saturday afternoon. Bateman had been in an army hospital since 1926 and had been under the care of Miss Naughton for some months of his life." Note: she was the daughter of Michael Francis Naughton and Mary Riordan.
