"The Cumberland Times" Cumberland, Maryland, Tue 20 Apr 1943: 
"Lonaconing-Mrs. Elizabeth Downey Nolan, 84, widow of Daniel M. Nolan, 
died at the home of her son, James C. Nolan, East Main street, yesterday 
from pneumonia. She was a daughter of the late Edward and Jane Downey 
and was born in England, coming to America when 11. She was a member of 
St. Mary's Catholic Church and Sodality Blessed Virgin Mary. Surviving 
also are two daughters, Mrs. Mary Picciani, High street, and Mrs. Joseph 
J. Connor, Akron, Ohio; 14 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. 
Funeral services will take place tomorrow at St. Mary's Church with 
burial in St. Mary's Cemetery."
