"Cumberland Evening Times" Cumberland, Maryland,  28 Jun 1947: "
Tri-Towns: John J. O'Brien, 65, foreman at the Luke plant of the West Virginia 
Pulp and Paper Company, died this morning at his home, 72 West Hampshire Street, 
Piedmont., He had been bedfast for a week. A native and life resident of Piedmont, 
Mr. O'Brien was a son of the late John and Bridget (Graney) O'Brien. He had been 
employed at the Luke plant for 51 years and was a member of St. Peter's Catholic 
Church. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Agnes (Curran) O'Brien; five children, 
Brother Firmilian John, Ammendale and Albert, Thomas, Louise and Margaret O'Brien, 
all at home; and three brothers, P.J. O'Brien, Luke; William O'Brien, Grafton, W. 
Va.; and Thomas O'Brien, Piedmont. The body will be at the residence tomorrow 
morning. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday {1 Jul 1947} at 9 a.m. in St. 
Peter's Church, Westernport. Interment will be in the church cemetery."
