O'Brien, a retired B & O conductor, died at his home in Piedmont, W. Va., on Sunday night, aged 71 years. He was retired about ten years ago and put on the pension list. The deceased was one of the few remaining pioneer railroaders who ran on the B & O when that line was extended from Cumberland to Wheeling. He was a careful and faithful employee and had a fund of stories dealing with railroading in the olden time. He is survived be several sons, among whom is Conductor Thomas O'Brien of the Third Division. He was a member of St. Peter's Church, Westernport and widely known between Cumberland and Grafton."
